Power Ethernet appoints Design Works to bring prototypes to life
22 March 2011 - Power Ethernet has appointed product development agency Designworks to realise its revolutionary Power Ethernet product. They will work with the Power Ethernet team, developing initial design concepts, prototype mock-ups, CAD data, technical specifications and delivering a production ready design package. Based in London, Brisbane and Hong Kong, Designworks is a leading product design and development consultancy with experience in areas such as strategic design research, industrial design, engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing. It is the chosen design company for many leading brands and regularly appears in challenges on the BBC's The Apprentice and Channel 5’s The Gadget Show.
Design Works will initially develop conceptual drawings for the Power Ethernet product. From there they will be responsible for the plastics designs, the registered designs for the company patent portfolio, validation of final CAD designs and prototype plastics.
Power Ethernet Managing Director, Daniel Rogoff: "Taking proof-of-concept drawings to production-ready designs is a proud moment for any start-up. We're excited at the prospect of working with such a well respected design agency to bring the last four years research and development to life."
Design Works Director of Prototyping, Sean Miles: "Power Ethernet's PE Socket ticks all the boxes of a great product. It's simple, elegant and effective. It's a truly exciting product to be involved with."
