Schneider Electric puts Power Ethernet technology Inside New Range of Integrated Sockets

Next Generation Electrical Sockets to give rise to new level of ‘Connected Home’ simplicity

The partnership with Power Ethernet adds Powerline technology to the range of wiring accessories currently offered by Schneider Electric. The range provides flexible connectivity options for installers, specifiers and end users.

“Through our alliance with Power Ethernet we are pleased to be able to bring to market a range of new innovative Powerline solutions and a product roadmap that will showcase the true potential of Powerline-based products in the home and office,” said Marc Gaunt, Marketing Manager at Schneider Electric. “As we move towards the smart home, we see a clear opportunity for Powerline to provide flexible connectivity for a range of home automation and entertainment systems. It’s a natural complement to our existing range of wiring accessories, offering installers a vital opportunity to tap into new revenue opportunities in data networking with their customers.”

The arrangement with Schneider Electric reflects the evolution of Power Ethernet’s business strategy; having proved both the feasibility of an integrated power and Powerline socket and the market opportunity with the original Power Ethernet T1000 device, the company is now able to turn its focus to licensing, design and manufacturing opportunities. The partnership with Schneider represents the first in a series of prospects for the integration of Power Ethernet technology and know-how into a range of products, spanning multiple industries.

“The partnership with Schneider Electric is testament to both the strength of our company’s existing intellectual property and our vision for the role that Powerline will play in enabling the smart home of the future” said Daniel Rogoff, Managing Director of Power Ethernet. "It’s also a reward for the hard work and creativity of the small team that has built the Power Ethernet business over the last 12 months. The partnership with Schneider Electric will enable Power Ethernet to realise its vision for a completely new class of home networking. It will also provide the capital investment required to continue to develop our intellectual property and secure further opportunities to embed Power Ethernet into the electrical products and systems around us.”
